College of Fine Arts Holds the 2023 Master's Graduation Works Exhibition

On May 19th, the exhibition of the 2023 Master's Graduation Works of the College of Fine Arts of Guizhou University (GZU), titled "Youth," was successfully held at the Runzheng Art Museum. GZU Vice Presidents Qi Si and Zhang Dalin, as well as Di Jiangtao, Secretary of the Party Committee of College of the People's Armed Forces of Guizhou University, attended the opening ceremony. Guests from the Guizhou Artists Association, Guizhou Oil Painting Society, Guizhou Institute of Fine Arts and Sculpture, Guizhou Young Artists Association, and the College of Fine Arts at Guizhou Minzu University were also present, alongside leaders from relevant departments of GZU. The opening ceremony was presided over by Tang Changqiao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Fine Arts.

During his speech, Qi Si highlighted that the graduation designs in the exhibition showcase the admirable, amiable, and respectable qualities of the young generation. He emphasized the significant responsibilities and missions of the College of Fine Arts in creating a better artistic and cultural environment while nurturing artists capable of studying, discovering, creating, and disseminating beauty.

Geng Yi, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, expressed that the exhibition of the 2023 Master's Graduation Works represents the harmonious fusion of diverse cultures and interdisciplinary development. He remarked that the showcased works reflect the students' self-identity and self-reflections, their exploration of the society and depictions of living beings, offering a splendid art feast.

Xu Heng, Chairman of the Guizhou Artists Association and a professor at the College of Fine Arts, and Zhao Zhu, President of the Guizhou Oil Painting Society and a representative of the graduate mentors, conveyed messages to the graduates, inspiring them to become shining stars in their future endeavors and wishing them a bright future.

On behalf of the students, Pan Zhaoyang delivered a speech expressing his gratitude to GZU and the teachers and wishing the 2023 Master's graduates a successful future.

After Zhang Dalin officially declared the opening of the exhibition, teachers and students entered the art museum together to admire the artistic creations of the graduating students.

The exhibition collects over 200 pieces of artwork from more than 69 students across 9 majors of the College of Fine Arts.
